Philosophical Foundations
Music is an idea in the mind of the musician which is translated into sound. Communication is a translation of sound back into an idea in the mind of a listener.
In order for translation to occur, communication must be orderly, which is to say: The content of the communication must be intelligible and "make sense" to the listener. To this end, AutisMusic aims to provide sounds which allow the listener to enter a relaxed state where the music may be used as a "mesh" or "framework" upon which to build "internal associations" and "make sense" of communication. If you've ever said "Music helps me think", you understand.
Positive Reinforcements
We've heard a lot of "music therapy" songs that would drive sane people crazy. Why anyone would want to subject themselves, or their children, to "music" which is un-listenable is simply beyond our understanding.
Statistical Methodology
99% of all music therapy is bad music. Unless you're the one making the bad music, and you're having fun doing it, bad music is simply not good therapy. (Please, no more Frere Jacques, ok?)
